The Sox win the 2nd Series title in 4 years and appear poised to truly contend at the highest level for years to come. The Patriots face off against the Colts tomorrow and the game has been dubbed the mid-season super bowl by many in the media.
If the Patriots do what is becoming expected of them, win it all, then that will be 2 championships out of the 4 major sports for Boston/New England this go around.
What's next?
How about the Celtics?
Last night they opened with a good win against the Wizards. Sure the Wizards are not Phoenix or San Antonio but they were better than the C's last year. Everybody was. This is about beating teams and climbing up the ladder.
I watched about half the game, thanks ESPN for taking over the NBA. Gives me a chance to see the Celtics last night at least.
Garnett's opening shot along with the general nervousness of both teams in the opening 5 minutes was ugly but once they settled in it was ok to watch. That is a lot to say. The make up of this team has some amount of mass appeal as Garnett, Allen and to some extent Pierce play unselfeshly.
