Back to Boston!
Beckett was cy youngish. Sabbathia was ok but never awe inspiring. Crisp and Lugo need a seat but I would still let Lugo play for his defense.
My lineup for Saturday would be :
Ellsbury
Pedroia
Ortiz
Manny
Lowell
Youk
Drew
Varitek
Lugo
Schilling doesn't scare me, assuming he is physically fine (no reason not to) then him throwing back to back bad games in a series isn't likely in my opinion.
Saturday prediction : Sox 5 Indians 3
As for the Indians having an Beckett ex sing the anthem and God Bless America last night...here is my comment about this on a great site related to RedSox Yankees baseball : http://yankeesredsox.com/
I saw that this morning, dirty pool all the way.
That would be like having a PETA representative reciting the pledge of allegiance at the sentencing of Mike Vick.
or
That would be like having Charles Manson do the introduction for The Beatles at their Rock-n-roll hall of fame induction.
or
That would be like having John Rocker introduce the keynote speaker at a NAACP meeting.
Oh yeah, btw - Torre declining the contract the Yankees offered was a good move for the Sox. Some Yankee fans don't think Torre is right for the job now that there is significant youth playing for them but there will be a learning curve for whomever they put in his place.
